Upon Acquiring the New Jersey-Based Addiction Treatment Center, Sprout Health Group Has Committed $1.5 Million in Facility Improvements, Boosted Staff, and Introduced New Treatments

EATONTOWN, N.J., January 9, 2020 / — Sprout Health Group, a leading network of treatment centers for substance abuse and co-occurring disorders nationwide, is pleased to announce that its Kearny-based facility Endeavor House North has earned accreditation by The Joint Commission, the nation’s largest and oldest standards-setting and accrediting body in healthcare.

An independent and non-profit organization, The Joint Commission accredits and certifies healthcare organizations in the United States based on stringent, objective standards for patient care, safety and value. Endeavor House North earned accreditation from the Commission as a Behavioral Health Care Program six months after its acquisition by Sprout Health Group — a testament to the quality of staff at Endeavor House, which has served the New Jersey area for more than four decades, and to a series of strategic investments made by Sprout.

Soon after taking control of Endeavor House in April, Sprout committed $1.5 million to facility improvements, starting with upgrades to the detoxification and inpatient areas to match those in acute-care hospital settings. The team instituted streamlined operational processes, increased on-site staff, and introduced a patient-centric philosophy focused on customized treatment.

Specific improvements have included:

  • Adding credentialed, licensed professionals with multiple years’ experience in substance abuse disorder treatment.
  • Adding licensed mental health clinicians to complement programs that deliver evidence-based therapies to clients.
  • Ensuring a minimum of seven on-staff nurses available daily to intake new clients and ensure comfort throughout their stay.
  • Ensuring on-site nurses are available 24 hours per day, seven days per week.
  • Providing access to advanced psychiatric and medical Nurse Practitioners.
  • Introducing mandatory training programs for all staff, aligned with the highest industry standards, to ensure quality care.
  • Hiring Dr. Francis Rienzo, a substance abuse expert with more than 20 years of specialized addiction treatment experience, to oversee staff as Endeavor House Medical Director.

Endeavor House Executive Director Bethsaida Rivera, an industry veteran who has led many of the recent improvements, has embraced the changes Sprout Health Group has brought to the facility, particularly regarding personalized care.

“I’ve never seen the care here be more client-centered,” she said. “No two patients are the same, even if they come in with the same addiction. Sprout’s initial assessment leads to the development of treatment plans that focus on what each individual needs most.”

Investing in the Future

Sprout will continue to invest in Endeavor House North by expanding treatment areas, updating public living spaces, renovating client rooms, and upgrading the kitchen and dining rooms with the goal of creating a warm, comforting environment where clients have the best chance to heal.

Recognizing an ongoing need for high-quality addiction treatment based on evidence-based methods and the personalized needs of each client, Sprout Health Group will also continue to enhance the quality of treatment, working to surpass even the industry-leading standards of The Joint Commission.

By providing state-of-the-art facilities, a fully staffed center, and a treatment approach that leverages timely research to drive the most effective, personalized care available for New Jersey residents, Sprout Health Group is proud to carry on the positive legacy of Endeavor House North.
